NOHA Network on Humanitarian Action

The NOHA Network on Humanitarian Action is an international association of universities that aims to enhance professionalism in the humanitarian sector through education, training, publications, and projects. The program includes the following features:

• Network of 10 European and 14 global partner universities
• Joint Master’s Degree in International Humanitarian Action
• Annual thematic schools and an undergraduate module
• Journal of International Humanitarian Action
• 150+ professors and lecturers
• Network of over 3,500 graduates working all around the world.

NOHA was originally founded by five European universities in 1993, namely, Université d’Aix-Marseille, University of Bochum, University of Deusto, Université Catholique de Louvain, and Oxford University.

In 2015, the network expanded to include European and global partner universities, among which ICU is currently the only NOHA Global Partner University in Japan and the broader East Asian region.

The NOHA Masters programme initiative was launched in 1993 under the auspices of the Erasmus-Socrates Programme with additional financial support from the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).
